Super Simple Chocolate Torte

“‘… Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.’
So we say with confidence, The Lord is my helper;
I will not be afraid…”       Hebrews 13:5-6

Ingredients: Serves 8
9 oz semisweet chocolate chips
4 large eggs
powdered sugar, for dusting
Fresh Raspberries for garnish

Instructions: preheat Oven to 325F

Grease a round cake pan and line with parchment paper.

Add the chocolate chips to a microwave-safe bowl and melt completely, about 1 minute.

Separate the egg yolks from the whites.

Add the egg yolks, one at a time, to the bowl of melted chocolate and stir to combine with an electric hand mixer.

Whisk the whites until soft peaks form.

Using a rubber spatula, gently fold ⅓ of the whipped egg whites at a time into the chocolate mixture.

Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top. Bake the cake for 30 minutes.

Once the cake is cool to the touch, gently invert it onto a serving plate. Slice and dust with powdered sugar and/or serve with ice cream and fruit, if desired. Pleasing to the Palate!

“Life is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're going to get.” And isn’t that just so true? Faith or no faith, life can throw us some dips and turns, punches and blows, and ups and downs that we weren’t expecting. How do you handle those unexpected challenges?

Difficult times have helped me to understand how enormously rich and wonderful life really is. Even during the times that I have felt like I am on a roller coaster of emotions, I need to recognize that I am still on the ride God wants me on and He is right by my side.

You see, in difficult times, God gives us what we need to find our strength for each new day. God gives us what we need to keep on going. God gives us what we need to minister to one another.

Hebrews 13:5b-6a says: "… 'Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.' So we say with confidence, 'The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid…'"

Did you catch that? He will never leave us and never forsake us. He will provide all that we need even when dips and turns, punches and blows, and ups and downs come our way. Unlike a box of chocolate with sometimes good and bad in the middle, we have a guarantee that God is with us through it all!
Satisfying to the Soul!

"All you need is love. But a little chocolate now
and then doesn't hurt."   Charles M. Schultz
